Athletes learn basic movements and skills on the aerial silk and hammock. Athletes will build strength, body and spacial awareness in a fun and safe environment. Beginner aerialists will learn how to climb and descent fabrics safely, learn inverted shapes, foot locks, basic drops and more!
Athletes will build their strength using the Aerial hoop, also known as the Lyra. Aerialists will learn a variety of skills like knee and ankle hangs, inverted shapes, rolls and even drops!
This class builds upon the skills that athletes learn in their aerial classes. Athletes will learn more about the theory of aerial dance, how to build sequences and create movements that flow, as well as playing with different characters and emotions. In addition, athletes will have opportunities to perform in events within our community. This class is for advanced aerialists only. Aerialists must be evaluated before enrolling in this class.
